Aikido Focus practice with Ursula Peer & Simon Debus-Wedekind

From time to time, advanced students from our dojo lead a focus training session on a topic of their choosing. This Saturday, Ursula Peer, 4th Dan Aikikai, and Simon Debus-Wedekind, 2nd Dan Aikikai, will be teaching.

Aikido Ukemi — from Rolling to Free Falling

Rolling and falling is one of the aspects of Aikido that many practitioners find genuinely challenging — and for some, it comes with a fair amount of anxiety. Ursula and Simon have both put serious work into their ukemi and are highly confident in the air. They will guide you step by step through the exercises that build from basic rolls toward free falls.

The session is open to all levels, including those who are new to ukemi. As a pair, they can also split the group when that makes sense.

About Ursula and Simon

Both came to Aikido through the university beginner course at our dojo. For years, they trained almost daily and attended seminars well beyond the dojo’s own programme.
